Love is in the
air . Me, my family, my friends and all
across the globe, have started planning what will be doing on the big day as
Valentine’s Day. Here my question is why every
year, on a particular day in the month of February, we all are sudden start
feeling romantic! Especially the ones, why not everyone and everything?. Added that,
I have another thing on my mind, Valentine’s day should be renamed as ‘Global
Bravery Day for Singles’, looking at the amount of Singles trying to make this
day a tad bit ‘normal’ by making it romantic. Lovey-dovey, hearts, roses,
chocolates, selfie, red red everywhere.
And the middle of it single people have a lot of worry in this day’s! They pray
to god, when the day would passed! To
the folks, I would suggest 1st April as the new
Valentine’s Day from this year . At least in that case, if the girl or boy rejects someone in public, on their beautyfly face, they
can save some pride by saying ‘April Fool’! Having so much fun, let’s discuss
the serious issue. Why a particular day we all celebrate as Love Day ? This day is
celebrated in the memory of St. Valentine’. But who was this guy? And what did
he do, to mark this day ‘Globally’ as the day of love? Well, people have their
own set of theories to believe in. St Valentine’s identity has been
a rather confusing subject. There are several accounts of who St Valentine
really was. One account says that he was a martyred priest in the Roman Empire
during the third century, beheaded for aiding persecuted Christians and helping
couples to wed during the reign of Claudius II. The emperor had banned
marriages due to the belief that married men make weak soldiers and St
Valentine defied him by helping lovers get married. According to another
account, he was a catholic bishop of Terni imprisoned and martyred by Claudius
II for converting people to Christianity. There’s about Valentine’s Day is many
things, but the exact meaning and effect of it can vary from individual to
individual. Some peoples thinks that Valentine’s Day largely like an excuse for stores to sell a lot of
products after the post-Christmas lull. It falls in a period that would
otherwise lack any sort of consumer holidays. Some people thinks Valentine’s Day
as an opportunity. It is an opportunity to show that special someone how much we
care about them. It can be the occasion to go for the boy/girl you’ve been too
shy to ask out for the past few months. It can be a time of happiness and
gratefulness for the loved ones in our life. Simultaneously Valentine’s Day could
be a time when people feel forced to do things for loved ones, which is
problematic to begin with. It can also lead to a time of loneliness and
depression for the singles . Keep everything in mind, my opinion is, if we really want to remember
Saint Valentine who has sacrificed his
own life for love, then we will remember that special person on 14’th February and
keep promise and bond with love to everyone.
